What is WEEE
Italian Legislative Decree 49/2014 on waste from electrical and electronic equipment.
Consumers can hand over the electrical and electronic equipment they no longer use to the public collection service, take the equipment to local recycling centres or give it back to retailers. All leading manufacturers are involved in setting up and managing systems for the collection and disposal of equipment no longer in use.
In compliance with Italian Ministerial Decree 65/2010 article 1, paragraph 1 and Legislative Decree 49/2014, article 11, paragraph 1, customers are informed that T-Data s.r.l. (“T-Data s.r.l”), on the supply of new electrical or electronic equipment (EEE), intended for domestic use, guarantees the free collection of old electrical or electronic equipment (defined as WEEE) that has the same functions.
Please note that:
- the free collection of WEEE (“WEEE 1 against 1”, as provided for by Italian Ministerial Decree no. 65/2010) can take place, provided that the WEEE is from a domestic location and of an equivalent type, i.e. it has the same functions as the new equipment purchased. For example: if a powerbank is purchased, T-Data s.r.l guarantees the free collection of an old powerbank;
- the WEEE will be collected free of charge, unless otherwise indicated by the user, in up to 30 business days from when the request to use the service is received, after being contacted by T-Data s.r.l. The WEEE will be collected by a courier appointed by T-Data s.r.l.
WEEE of a commercial, industrial, institutional and other origin (dual use), of the same nature and quantity, is also considered as domestic WEEE.
Conditions to request collection
- Free collection is not provided in the case of the purchase of non-EEE. Details are given in attachments 1 and 2 of Italian Legislative Decree 49/2014;
- Pursuant to article 12, paragraph 4 of Italian Legislative Decree 49/2014, the collection of WEEE may be refused:
- if there is a risk of collection operators being contaminated;
- if the WEEE does not have its main components;
- if the equipment for which collection is requested contains waste other than WEEE;
How to ask for the free collection of WEEE
If you have purchased several products, you must indicate in the body of the email the number of products to be collected using the WEEE service. This number cannot exceed the number of products purchased.
For example: if you buy 2 powerbanks, you can ask for 1 power bank to be collected, or 2 powerbanks to be collected, but not 3 powerbanks.
How the WEE is collected
The user acknowledges that if, during collection, the used equipment is identified as not being equivalent to the new equipment supplied, the courier appointed by T-Data s.r.l will not collect the Product and if this nonconformity is identified in the email requesting the WEEE collection service, the courier will not contact the user.
- Pursuant to article 12, paragraph 4 of Italian Legislative Decree 49/2014, the collection of WEEE may be refused:
- if there is a risk of collection operators being contaminated;
- if the WEEE does not have its main components;
- if the equipment for which collection is requested contains waste other than WEEE;
